Using AI to speed up and improve the creation of content briefs
An AI-augmented internal tool that automatically generates team-specific content briefs to guide editors in creating targeted, competitive content. The tool streamlines research, competitor analysis, and brief creation, ensuring that editorial teams can efficiently produce high-quality content optimized for their target keywords.
Editorial teams needed to produce content that could rank competitively for target keywords. Creating content briefs was a manual, time-intensive process requiring:
Searching for the keyword, reviewing top competitor pages,
Extracting relevant information, and analyzing their content strategies, and
Structuring a brief aligned with team-specific requirements.
This manual workflow was inconsistent, slow, and not scalable across multiple teams or large content campaigns.
As Product Manager, I led the end-to-end development of the tool, from initial discovery to full deployment. I collaborated with editorial stakeholders to understand team-specific brief requirements, defined technical and AI requirements with the engineering team, and drove the product from proof-of-concept to a bulk-capable, fully automated solution.
We created a tool that automates the research and brief creation process for both individual and bulk content briefs:
